Blenheim Palace

Blenheim Palace is a monumental 18th-century country house and a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, approximately 8 miles north-west of Oxford. It is famously the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and the seat of the Dukes of Marlborough.

Non-Royal Status: It is the only non-royal and non-episcopal (not home to a bishop) building in England to hold the title of “Palace”.
Baroque Masterpiece: Designed by Sir John Vanbrugh and Nicholas Hawksmoor, it is a premier example of English Baroque architecture.
Dual Purpose: Built between 1705 and 1722, it was intended as both a family home and a national monument to commemorate the 1st Duke of Marlborough’s victory at the Battle of Blenheim.
