Bird World – Surrey

Bird World in Surrey is one of the largest bird parks in the country. The park has all types of birds from the massive Maribou Stork to tiny Sunbirds, Penguins, Owls, Parrots, Waterfowl and many other colourful species.

At Birdworld Surrey, you’ll experience an immersive 26-acre park filled with over 1,200 birds and interactive zones designed for both discovery and play. As the UK’s only dedicated bird park, it offers a rare level of avian diversity, from penguins and flamingos to majestic birds of prey.

What You Do There
The park is designed for a full day of activity, combining animal encounters with extensive play areas:
Animal Encounters: Watch daily penguin feedings at Penguin Beach, see pelican feedings, and experience outdoor flying displays featuring owls and kookaburras.
Immersive Exhibits: Walk through the Terry Pratchett Owl Parliament, stroll through the Seashore Walk aviary, and explore the sensory-rich Love + Colour indoor exhibit.
Play & Discovery: Explore the massive Treetop Adventures outdoor playground with rope bridges and giant nests, or head to the Play Barn, which is the largest indoor play area in the region.
Special Trails: Follow the Dinosaur Discovery Trail to see life-size prehistoric figures and learn about their evolutionary link to birds.
Conservation Learning: Learn about the 180+ species on-site, including the 40% that are currently threatened with extinction

There is an active schedule of events through the day including feeding hungry Penguins twice a day. The birds can also entertain you as they swoop, soar and hop in the Outdoor Flying Display and the Heron Theatre Show.

Younger visitors in particular will certainly enjoy meeting some of the smaller cuddly residents in the farm Animal Handling and no day is complete without joining the bird Keepers for the daily Owl Prowl feeding tour.

Birdworld is primarily a family destination, but its variety makes it suitable for several groups:
Families with Children ( Especially those with toddlers and primary-aged kids who will enjoy the extensive play zones and interactive trails), Nature & Bird Enthusiasts ( Anyone interested in rare avian species and conservation efforts).

What it like on rainy days? With large indoor areas like the Play Barn and the Love + Colour exhibit, it functions as a year-round, all-weather destination.

This is an excellent day-out, where you will be entertained and educated in a beautiful 26 acre site with over 1200 rare and interesting birds to keep you coming back to find out more.
