Hollycombe Steam Collection

Hollycombe Steam Collection is actually a nostalgic, fun-filled day out focusing on working steam-powered rides and trains rather than just technical engineering. Visitors go to ride Victorian/Edwardian fairground rides, take narrow-gauge railway journeys through gardens, and enjoy the vintage atmosphere. It operates seasonally and on weekends.

What would you do there?

Unique Fairground Rides: There are several rides including vintage steam-powered Gallopers (carousels), chair-o-planes, and a Haunted Cottage.
There are 3 Railways: Take a long ride on the Quarry Railway, a woodland railway, or a miniature railway.
For older visitors, enjoy a nostalgic experience by watching movies in a 1900s-style Bioscope show and see the Hall of Mirrors.
Explore working equipment on a steam-powered farm with traction engines, road rollers, and agricultural demonstrations.

Enthusiastic volunteers explain the machines, and the park features, which are located in scenic woodland gardens. Special events offer the chance to ride illuminated rides under the stars.

Hollycombe Steam Collection is a dedicated collection that opens seasonally (typically starting in spring) and is largely open on Sundays, plus extra days during summer holidays, rather than just being a one-off festival.

The site includes a cafe, picnic areas, and a gift shop, offering a full family day out. It is described as more “quaint” and relaxed than a modern theme park
