Go Ape – Haldon Forest Park

Go Ape at Haldon Forest Park is an outdoor adventure centre featuring high-ropes courses, zip wires, and forest activities. Located just off the A38 near Exeter (approximately nine miles away), it is nestled within 3,500 acres of woodland with views extending towards Dartmoor.

What You Can Do or See
Visitors can explore the forest canopy through two primary high-ropes experiences:
Treetop Adventure: A one-hour course for younger children (over 1m tall) featuring wobbly bridges, intricate crossings, and a zip wire finale.
Treetop Challenge: A 2–3 hour self-guided experience for those over 1.4m tall, including canopy-high crossings, Tarzan Swings, and hilltop-to-hilltop zip wires up to 230m long.
Forest Exploration: Beyond the ropes, you can enjoy five cycling trails (bike hire available), four walking trails, and the South West’s largest orienteering course.

Who Should Go and When
Who: It is designed for families, thrill-seekers, and groups including school trips, birthday parties, and stag/hen dos.
When: The park is open nearly all year (closed Christmas Day). Seasonal events like Sundown Adventures (high-ropes in the dark with colourful lights) typically run from mid-October to early November.

Unique Features
Go Ape Haldon is the southernmost Go Ape location in the UK. It is particularly known for its spectacular 360-degree views from the treetops and zip wires that glide across the valley.
