Go Ape – Moors Valley Country Park

Go Ape at Moors Valley Country Park is an outdoor adventure centre featuring high ropes courses, forest segways, and suspended nets. Located on the Dorset/Hampshire border near Ringwood (BH24 2ER), it sits approximately 10 miles north of Bournemouth.

What You Can Do
The site offers five main adventures:
Treetop Challenge: The flagship high ropes course with “Tarzan Swings” and zip lines up to 166m long.
Treetop Adventure & Adventure Plus: Tailored for younger children (over 1m tall) and confident juniors, focusing on building aerial confidence.
Nets Adventure: A series of giant bouncy nets suspended 30ft above the ground, allowing for soft-play-style fun in the canopy.
Forest Segway: Off-road, self-balancing electric scooters for exploring forest trails.

Visit Duration & Suitability
Duration: Typically, you should allow 2 to 3 hours for the Treetop Challenge. The Treetop Adventure and Nets sessions usually last 1 hour.
Suitability: It is designed for ages 4 to 104. Specific height and weight limits apply (e.g., 1.4m for the Challenge course; max weight 130kg).

Best Times to Go
Early or Late: The first morning sessions or final afternoon slots are typically the quietest.
Seasons: While popular in summer, winter offers a quieter, more “atmospheric” experience with better forest views once leaves have fallen.
Weather: It is an all-weather activity; rain often makes it more “exciting” and less crowded, though it may close for extreme wind or lightning.

Unique Features
Unlike many other locations, Moors Valley includes the Nets Adventure, which provides a high-altitude experience without the need for harnesses, making it more accessible for very young children. It is also part of a wider award-winning country park featuring a steam railway and a specialized Play Trail.
