What Is SC2 Rhyl?

SC2 is a modern leisure attraction on Rhyl seafront. Its main attraction is the waterpark, but there is considerably more here than swimming. Families can combine water slides and splash areas with indoor climbing and obstacle challenges, soft play and food without needing to travel between different attractions.

That makes SC2 especially useful on a family holiday when the weather is uncertain or when different children want different activities.

SC2 Waterpark

The indoor waterpark has water play for different ages and confidence levels. Younger visitors can enjoy shallow and interactive water areas, while older children and adults can try the larger flumes and more energetic water features.

The Piranha Play structure includes water cannons, jets, tipping buckets, waterwheels and slides, giving children plenty to explore rather than simply swimming in a conventional pool.

SC2 also has outdoor water play, including its Splash Pad, although access to outdoor attractions can depend on the season and weather.

Ninja TAG

Ninja TAG is an indoor multi-level obstacle course combining climbing, agility and physical challenges. Visitors move around the course trying to reach electronic TAG points and build a score.

It is particularly well suited to older children, teenagers and adults who enjoy competitive activities. Height restrictions apply, so check the current requirements before booking.

Adventure Play

Younger children have their own Jurassic-themed adventure play area with climbing, slides and soft-play activities. This gives families with children of different ages another option if not everyone wants to use the waterpark or Ninja TAG.

Is SC2 Good for a Rainy Day?

Yes. SC2 is one of the strongest rainy-day family attractions in Rhyl because its main waterpark, Ninja TAG and adventure play facilities are indoors.

The outdoor Splash Pad is naturally more weather dependent, but poor weather does not prevent families from using most of the attraction.

How Long Should You Allow?

Waterpark admissions are sold in timed sessions, and Ninja TAG and Adventure Play also operate as bookable activities. A visit can therefore range from a couple of hours for one activity to much of the day if you combine several parts of SC2.

If you are visiting during school holidays, it is sensible to decide which activities you most want to do and check availability before travelling.

Accessibility

SC2 has accessible changing and showering facilities, and a pool hoist is available for the waterpark on request. The centre also schedules disability and autism-friendly sessions for some activities.

Individual rides and activities may have their own physical or height restrictions, so visitors with particular accessibility requirements should check directly with SC2 before booking.

Food and Drink

There are several food and drink options inside SC2. The Rainforest Diner is the main café and can also be used by people who are not taking part in the attractions.

Other outlets operate around the waterpark, Adventure Play and outdoor areas depending on opening arrangements.

Good to Know Before You Go

  • SC2 operates timed sessions for its main attractions.
  • Advance booking is sensible at busy times.
  • Waterpark, Ninja TAG, Adventure Play and the outdoor Splash Pad may require separate admission.
  • Height restrictions apply to some activities.
  • Spectators entering the waterpark itself need an admission ticket.
  • Spectators can watch from the Rainforest Diner without buying waterpark admission.
  • Check current opening times before travelling because sessions vary between term time, weekends and school holidays.

Who Will Enjoy SC2?

SC2 is particularly good for families with children who enjoy active attractions. Younger children have water play and adventure play, while older children and teenagers are likely to appreciate the larger flumes and Ninja TAG.

It is also a useful attraction for mixed-age family groups because visitors do not all have to take part in the same activity.

Combine SC2 with a Day in Rhyl

SC2 is on Rhyl’s seafront, making it easy to combine with the beach, promenade or other attractions in the town. It is particularly useful as the main activity on a family day out, with time before or afterwards to explore the seafront.
