Arundel Wetland Centre

WWT Arundel Wetland Centre is a 65-acre wildlife haven in West Sussex that offers a diverse range of experiences for all ages. Located near the historic town of Arundel and framed by the South Downs and Arundel Castle, the centre provides a blend of peaceful nature and active discovery.

One of the most popular ways to experience the site is through the Wetland Discovery Boat Safari, where a wildlife guide leads you on a quiet electric boat through reedbeds and water meadows to spot water voles, fish, and birds like kingfishers. For birdwatchers and photographers, there are eight wildlife hides strategically placed across different habitats, including the specialized Sand Martin hide with artificial nesting banks. Families can enjoy interactive areas like the Pond Skater adventure play zone, seasonal pond dipping sessions, and the Reedbed Willow Sphere where children can hunt for woven animal shapes. Visitors of all ages appreciate the Pelican Cove, home to giant Dalmatian Pelicans, and the Coastal Creek aviary, which features diving sea ducks and wading birds at eye level. Those seeking a slower pace can wander the non-slip Reedbed Boardwalk or relax at the Water’s Edge Café, which offers views of the Arun Riverlife lagoon and the kingfisher nesting bank.

Accessibility: The site is designed for everyone, featuring paved, level pathways, free manual wheelchair loans, and an accessible boat safari that can accommodate wheelchair users.

The centre is open daily from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm (except Christmas Day), and tickets can be booked online in advance for a 10% discount
