Bridlington Blacktoft Sands

Bridlington Animal Park is a great shout for a family day out, especially if you’ve got little ones who love getting up close to feathered and furry friends. You’ll find it tucked away in Carnaby, just on the outskirts of Bridlington (YO15 3QW, East Yorkshire).

What’s the vibe?

It’s a really friendly, hands-on spot that’s much more personal than the massive city zoos. The park is home to everything from meerkats and raccoons to wallabies and pigs. The real stars, though, are the birds of prey and the owls. Most visitors find themselves hanging out here for about 2 to 3 hours, making it a perfect morning or afternoon activity.

• Meet the Locals: One of the best bits is being able to buy bags of feed at the entrance. It makes the walk around much more interactive, though the goats can be a bit “enthusiastic” if they see you’ve got treats!

• Save a Few Quid: Keep an eye out for family tickets or local voucher leaflets often found in Bridlington’s tourist spots. They also offer discounts for Seniors and Blue Light card holders, so have your ID ready. If you live nearby and think you’ll visit more than twice, the annual pass pays for itself very quickly.

Since the park takes up a few hours, you can easily turn this into a full day. You’re only a five-minute drive from the main Bridlington seafront for some beach time or penny arcades.
