Beatles Story

The Beatles Story is located at the Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool, Merseyside. It’s the world’s largest permanent exhibition purely devoted to the lives and times of the Fab Four.

What to expect
This is an immersive journey through the band’s history. You’ll walk through replicas of The Casbah Coffee Club, Mathew Street, and a stunningly detailed Cavern Club. It’s a nostalgic “walk-through” experience using an inclusive “Living History” audio guide. You’ll see original instruments (including John Lennon’s piano), rare photography, and personal memorabilia.

Who is it for?

• Adults: This is the core audience. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just have a passing interest in 60s culture, it’s deeply engaging.
• Teenagers: Music-loving teens will appreciate the history, but those without an interest in the band might find the pace a bit slow as it’s a “look and listen” attraction rather than a high-energy one.
• Children: There is a dedicated Discovery Zone designed for younger kids where they can learn about the music through interactive screens and a giant floor piano. However, the main exhibition is museum-style, so younger children will need close supervision to ensure they don’t touch the displays.

Planning your time
Most people spend about two to three hours here. It is definitely more “interesting” than “hands-on,” so expect to do a lot of walking and listening. It isn’t a place where you can leave children to run free; it’s a shared family learning experience.

• Discounts: Look out for reduced rates for seniors, students, and children. They also offer family tickets and support Blue Light Card holders.
• Food & Parking: There is a Fab4 Cafe on-site for a themed snack, but being at the Albert Dock, you are surrounded by dozens of excellent restaurants and bars. Parking at the Dock can be expensive, so many visitors find it easier to park in the nearby city centre multi-storeys or use public transport.

Nearby fun
Since you’re already at the Albert Dock, you can easily walk to the Museum of Liverpool, Tate Liverpool, or hop on a Mersey Ferry (just a five-minute walk away) to see the skyline.
