Dartington Crystal

Dartington Crystal in North Devon is the UK’s only remaining large-scale glass factory, serving as the home of British glassmaking since 1967. It is an award-winning visitor attraction where you can witness the traditional art of mouth-blowing and hand-crafting molten crystal.

Who: It is suitable for all ages. Families with children (who often get free entry), couples, and individual craft enthusiasts will all find interest here.
When: The centre is open year-round. However, the Factory Experience is weekdays only (Monday–Friday) because it is a working factory; it is unavailable on weekends. It is also noted as a great wet-weather activity.

It is the only working hand-made tableware crystal factory left in the UK. While many brands outsource production, Dartington continues to produce its premium collections in its Devon factory using authentic Scandinavian-rooted techniques.
