Ark Wildlife and Dinosaur Park

Located in Stickney, Lincolnshire, this park is a quirky, rescued-animal sanctuary that has evolved into a full-on dinosaur destination. It’s a great spot for a half-day out, typically keeping families busy for about 3 to 4 hours.

What’s there to do?
You can meet a huge variety of exotic animals, many of which were rescued from the illegal pet trade. Think lynx, crocodiles, foxes, and meerkats. Then there’s the Jurassic Canyon, featuring impressive animatronic dinosaurs that roar and move. For the kids, there are indoor and outdoor play areas, including a popular escape room and a “dino dig” sandpit.

Who is it for?

  • Young Children: They will love it. Between the moving dinos and the soft play, they’re the primary audience.
  • Teenagers: Might find it a bit “young,” though the more exotic predators and the escape room usually keep them from getting too bored.
  • Parents: It’s a relatively hands-off experience in the play areas, but the animal enclosures are more about looking and learning together. It’s an interesting and educational vibe rather than a high-octane theme park.

The Budget Side

  • Discounts: They generally offer reduced rates for Seniors and Blue Light Card holders.
  • Value: If you live nearby, the Annual Pass pays for itself in just a few visits.
  • Extras: Parking is free, which is a nice win. The on-site café serves standard fair like burgers and chips at typical “attraction” prices, but there is plenty of space for a picnic if you want to keep costs down.

Making a day of it
Stickney is fairly rural, but you’re only about a 20-minute drive from Boston or Skegness. If you have any energy left, you could combine this with a trip to the Bolingbroke Castle ruins nearby for a bit of history, or grab a more substantial meal at one of the local village pubs in the Lincolnshire Wolds.
