Blackpool Sandcastle Waterpark

Sandcastle Waterpark is tucked right on the South Promenade in Blackpool, Lancashire. It’s a massive indoor tropical park that keeps the climate at a steady 84 degrees, so it’s a perfect escape if the seaside weather decides to turn.

This place is a total blast for the whole family, but it’s a genuine paradise for older children and teenagers who want high-speed thrills. While there are plenty of areas for little ones, the “Big 4” slides—Master Blaster, Sidewinder, Montazooma, and Aztec Falls—are the real magnets for the brave. Expect to spend about 3 to 4 hours here before everyone is sufficiently pruned and exhausted.

• Younger Kids: They’ll love the Shimmering Shallows and the HMS Thirster splash area. It’s very hands-on, but you’ll need to keep a close eye on them.
