Royal Liverpool Golf Club (Hoylake)

This is the big one—a world-famous Open Championship venue with over 150 years of history. It’s a prestigious, high-end experience that’s primarily targeted at serious adult golfers.

• The Experience: You’ll be playing on the same fairways as legends like Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. It’s a classic, challenging links course where the wind and deep bunkers are the real stars. • Nearby Fun: You’re very close to Birkenhead Park, which is a brilliant spot for younger children to run around or visit the farm.

Arrowe Park Municipal (Upton)

If you’re looking for something low-pressure and fun for everyone, this is the spot. Set in a massive country park, it’s much more casual than the private clubs.

• The Experience: There’s a full 18-hole parkland course, but the real draw for families is the 9-hole Pitch ‘n’ Putt.
• Ages & Skill: This is built for families and beginners. The Pitch ‘n’ Putt is a great way to give kids a taste of golf without the stress of a long round. It’s hands-on and fun.
• A Break for Parents: Arrowe Park itself is huge. While some of the family plays golf, others can head to the playgrounds, café, or woodland walks.
