Brimstage Maize Maze (seasonal)

Brimstage Maze Maze is located at Brimstage Hall & Soft Play in Wirral, Merseyside.

This is a classic summer day out centered around a massive corn field with a network of paths carved into it. It’s a genuine family all-rounder, though it leans heavily toward keeping children from toddlers to young teens occupied.

What’s there to do?
The main event is the giant Maize Maze, which usually takes about an hour to navigate. It’s designed to be a bit of a brain-teaser, but it isn’t so difficult that you’ll be lost forever. Beyond the stalks, there is a large outdoor adventure play area featuring jumping pillows, pedal go-karts, a giant sandpit, and “barrel rides.”

If the weather turns, there is a decent-sized indoor soft play barn. This makes it a “hands-off” win for parents; once the kids are in the play area or the soft play, adults can generally sit back while the children burn off energy.

Age Groups & Interest

• Younger Children: They will love the variety. The playground isn’t just an afterthought; it’s a major part of the draw.
• Teenagers: Most will enjoy the maze and the jumping pillows for a while, but they might get restless after a couple of hours once the “novelty” of the farm setting wears off.
• Adults: It’s more of an “interesting” walk than a high-octane experience for adults without kids, though the surrounding Brimstage Hall Courtyard is quite charming for a wander.

Logistics & Planning
Expect to spend around 3 to 4 hours here if you’re doing both the maze and the play areas.

• Supervision: Children need close supervision in the maze itself (it’s easy to get separated), but the play areas are self-contained enough for parents to take a breather nearby.
• Value & Discounts: Keep an eye out for Blue Light Card discounts as they are often accepted. If you live locally, an annual pass or membership is worth it because the soft play and courtyard are accessible even when the maze isn’t in season.
• Food & Parking: Parking is free and plentiful. While there is on-site food like burgers and ice cream, it can be a bit pricey for a large family.
• Nearby Extras: The Brimstage Hall Courtyard is right next door and is excellent for a more “grown-up” experience. It features boutique shops, a craft ale bar, and a very nice cafe if you want something higher quality than standard “attraction food.”

Is it worth it?
It’s more than just “seeing a field.” Because of the combination of the maze, the jumping pillows, and the soft play, it’s a solid, full-afternoon destination rather than a quick stop-off.
