TRNSMT Festival 2026

19 to 21 June 2026 at Glasgow Green

It is a non-camping festival, so it works differently from weekend camping festivals such as Download, Reading and Leeds or Creamfields. TRNSMT is better suited to people who want a big festival atmosphere during the day and evening, while staying in Glasgow or travelling in and out each day.

Location: Glasgow Green, Glasgow
County: Glasgow / Lanarkshire area
Festival type: Pop, indie, rock, dance and contemporary music
Last checked: June 2026

Getting There

TRNSMT is held at Glasgow Green, close to central Glasgow, so public transport is usually the best option.

Glasgow Green can be accessed from two subway stations within a fifteen-minute walk: Buchanan Street and St Enoch.

Other useful nearby rail and city-centre options may include:

Glasgow Central
Glasgow Queen Street
Argyle Street
High Street
Bridgeton
St Enoch Subway
Buchanan Street Subway

Travel by train, subway or walking from the city centre is usually more practical than trying to drive close to the festival site.

Parking

The official essential information says roads around Glasgow Green will be closed and restricted to local residents only, and specifically advises visitors not to bring a car because there is no parking at the festival.

Before travelling, check:

Public transport options
City-centre parking if absolutely necessary
Road closures
Drop-off and pick-up rules
Taxi arrangements
Walking routes from stations
Accessibility travel arrangements

If you are travelling from outside Glasgow, it is usually better to stay near public transport and walk, use the subway, or use train connections into the city centre.

Camping

TRNSMT is a city-centre festival and is not normally a camping festival.

That means you should plan accommodation, travel home, or daily transport separately. This can make TRNSMT easier if you do not want to camp, but it also means hotels and other places to stay can become busy around festival weekend.

For accommodation ideas, use the Where to Stay section rather than expecting on-site camping.

Food and Facilities

TRNSMT is a large city festival, so you can expect festival-style facilities such as food vendors, bars, toilets, welfare support and accessibility arrangements, but the exact layout and rules should always be checked before travelling.

The official essential information lists key times including:

Gates open: 12pm
Last entry: 9.30pm
Bars close: 10.30pm
Arena closes: 11pm
VIP Garden open until midnight

Before you go, check:

Food and drink rules
Bar and payment arrangements
Toilets
Accessibility facilities
Medical and welfare points
Bag restrictions
What you can and cannot bring
Official festival map or app
Last entry time

As with any outdoor festival, wear comfortable shoes and prepare for changeable weather.

Good to Know Before You Go

TRNSMT has a strict age policy.

The official FAQ states that TRNSMT is 16+, with no under-16s permitted entry. It also says a Challenge 25 policy will be in operation and visitors should expect to produce valid, in-date photographic ID.

Before travelling, check:

Your ticket type
Age and ID requirements
Last entry time
Set times
Weather forecast
Bag rules
Food and drink restrictions
Public transport plans
Return travel after the festival
Phone battery and ticket app access

The official FAQ says tickets will be available in the Ticketmaster app the week before the festival and that set times will be available closer to the festival.

Where to Stay

If you are travelling from outside Glasgow, it is worth arranging accommodation early because city-centre festivals can make nearby rooms busy.

For hotels, cottages, holiday parks, last-minute breaks and other accommodation ideas, see our Where to Stay section.
