Scone Palace

Scone Palace is one of Scotland’s most important historic sites, known as the ancient crowning place of Scottish kings. It is located near Perth, Perthshire, and uses the postcode PH2 6BD.

What to Expect and Enjoy

The palace is a grand gothic-style mansion filled with incredible treasures, including fine French furniture, ivories, and porcelains. You can stand on Moot Hill, where famous kings like Macbeth and Robert the Bruce were crowned on the Stone of Destiny. Outside, the 100-acre grounds are absolutely spectacular. You’ll love the Pinetum, home to towering giant redwoods, and the Murray Star Maze, which is made of 2,000 beech trees and is a huge hit with kids and adults alike. Keep an eye out for the resident peacocks—including rare white ones—that roam the lawns.
