The Hermitage is a spectacular wooded grove managed by the National Trust for Scotland, famous for its towering trees and dramatic waterfalls. It is located near Dunkeld, Perthshire, and uses the postcode PH8 0JR.

What to Expect and Enjoy
This is one of the most atmospheric forest walks in Scotland. The trail leads you through giant Douglas firs—some of the tallest trees in the UK—to Ossian’s Hall, a tiny stone building perched over the thundering Black Linn Falls. Inside the hall, mirrors and art create a magical view of the crashing water. If you visit in the autumn, you might be lucky enough to see salmon leaping up the falls. The paths are well-marked and follow the rushing River Braan, offering plenty of spots for photos and quiet reflection among the giant trees.
Best For and Time Spent
It is a winner for walkers, families with dogs, and anyone who loves the outdoors. The main path to the waterfall is relatively level and easy for most.
