What to Expect and Enjoy
The main draw here is the variety of outdoor rides. You’ve got the big thrill-seekers like the Tsunami and the Captain’s Curse pirate ship, but there is also a massive selection of smaller rides for the little ones.
- Amazonia: This is a real highlight—an indoor tropical rainforest. It’s home to exotic animals like monkeys, parrots, and snakes. It’s a brilliant “indoor escape” if the Scottish weather decides to be typically damp.
- Devil’s Island Adventure Golf: This is a huge 18-hole pirate-themed mini-golf course. It’s surprisingly competitive and a great way to settle family scores!
- Krazy Congo: A giant indoor soft play area that is perfect for burning off energy while the adults grab a coffee.
- Bowling and Arcade: There’s a massive ten-pin bowling alley and a classic “penny arcade” feel with modern games and glow-in-the-dark features.

This is a total winner for families with children and teenagers. Younger kids will love the dedicated “Kiddie Land” area, while teens will head straight for the bigger coasters.
- Duration: You’ll likely spend at least 4 to 6 hours here, especially if you combine the rides with a round of golf or a visit to the animals in Amazonia.
Height and Age Guidance
Like most theme parks, entry to rides depends on height for safety.
- Under 1.2 metres: You’ll find plenty of gentle carousels, trains, and tea-cup style rides.
- Over 1.2 metres: This is where the world of big drops and loops opens up.
- Amazonia and Golf: These are open to everyone regardless of height or age.
Helpful Tips for Your Visit
- Parking: There is a huge amount of free parking right outside the entrance, which is a big win for a major attraction.
- Food & Drink: You are spoiled for choice here. There are several themed restaurants, a Wimpy, and various snack bars selling donuts and ice cream. It can get a bit pricey if you’re feeding a big group all day, so many families choose to use the picnic areas in the surrounding country park.
- Savings: It is almost always better to buy “All Day” wristbands online before you go. They often offer Blue Light discounts and family bundle deals. Keep an eye out for “off-peak” prices during the school term.
- Season: The outdoor rides usually run from mid-March through to late October. However, the bowling, Amazonia, and soft play stay open all year round.
Nearby and Combine-able Hits
Since you are already inside Strathclyde Country Park, you can take a breather by the massive loch. It’s a very level and easy walk around the water, perfect for cyclists and those with prams.
If you want to keep the “water” theme going, the Hamilton Water Palace is just a short drive away and has some fantastic slides. For history buffs, the Bothwell Castle ruins are nearby and offer a great contrast to the neon lights of the theme park.
