Route Details for Walkers and Cyclists
Distance and Surface: The most popular route is a circular walk from Callander town centre, roughly 4.75 miles (7.6km). It’s largely level and follows a well-surfaced dismantled railway line (National Cycle Route 7), making it very easy for families and cyclists.
Terrain: While the main path is flat and easy, the small off-shoots that take you down to the river bank to see the falls can be rough, steep, and slippery, so wear decent shoes!
Points of Interest: Along the way, you’ll pass through beautiful oak woodlands and get great views of the mountain Ben Ledi towering over you.
Best For and Time Spent Great for walkers, dog owners, and families.
Duration: Allow about 2 to 2.5 hours for the full circuit if you’re walking at a relaxed pace.
