Housed in the striking Drumkinnon Tower in Balloch (G83 8QL), this is the most scenic aquarium in the UK, with huge windows looking out over the loch.

What to Expect and Enjoy

  • Ocean Tunnel: You can walk through a glass tunnel while sharks and giant sea turtles swim right over your head.
  • Otter Sanctuary: They have a lovely area for rescued Asian short-clawed otters—watching them during their daily “talks” is a real highlight.
  • Interactive Rockpool: Kids can actually touch a starfish or see a crab up close under the guidance of the staff.
