Balloch Castle Country Park

While we are talking about beautiful spots, we can’t miss this one in Balloch (G83 8LX). It sits at the very tip of Loch Lomond and offers some of the best easy-access views in the country.

What to Expect and Enjoy

  • The Gardens: The park is famous for its walled garden and its huge collection of rhododendrons and azaleas, which look like a wall of colour in the spring.
  • The Views: If you walk up the hill towards the (now closed) castle building, the view looking north up the loch is spectacular.
  • The Shoreline: You can walk right down to the water’s edge where there are plenty of spots to sit and watch the boats go by.

Best For and Time Spent
Ideal for families and walkers.

  • Duration: Allow about 2 hours for a good walk around the grounds.

Nearby and Combine-able Hits
The park is within walking distance of Loch Lomond Shores, where you’ll find the SEA LIFE Centre and plenty of places to eat.
