The Real Mary King’s Close is at 2 Warriston’s Close, Edinburgh EH1 1PG, just off the Royal Mile.
The standard guided tour lasts around one hour.
Tours run throughout the year, but opening times vary by season and demand, so check the live booking calendar before travelling.
Arrive at least 10 minutes before your booked tour time.
Children under 5 are not permitted on the tour.
The underground route includes 58 steps down and 38 steps up, and the historic layout is too steep and narrow for wheelchair access.
Accessible toilets and the ground-floor gift shop remain available for visitors who cannot take the underground tour.
Because tours often sell out, especially during festivals and school holidays, booking ahead is strongly recommended.
