Dundonald International Ice Bowl is one of the most versatile indoor attractions in Northern Ireland. It is not just one activity, but a mix of things to do under one roof, which makes it a great option when the weather is poor or when you want a full, varied day out.

The main attraction is the Olympic-sized ice rink. Whether you are a complete beginner or more confident on the ice, it is a fun experience. There are support aids for beginners, and it is a good laugh even if you spend half the time trying not to fall over. Families and groups tend to enjoy this the most.

Alongside the ice rink, there is a bowling alley which is always a reliable crowd-pleaser. It is suitable for all ages and a good backup if skating is not for everyone in your group.

There is also an indoor play area for younger children, which means families with mixed age groups are well catered for. While older kids and adults skate or bowl, younger ones can burn off energy in a safe indoor space.
Because everything is indoors, it works perfectly on rainy or cold days. You can easily spend a few hours here without needing to go elsewhere.
Food and drink are available on site, and there are shops and other amenities nearby, so it is easy to turn this into a longer outing if you want.
Good to know: Skating sessions run at set times, so it is worth planning ahead. Gloves are usually recommended for safety on the ice. Younger children should be supervised, and some activities may have age or height guidance. It can get busy at weekends and during school holidays.
