Hill of Tarvit Mansion

Just a few miles from Cupar, this is one of Scotland’s finest Edwardian mansion houses. It was built for a wealthy businessman as a place to showcase his incredible collection of art and antiques. You’ll find it at Cupar, Fife (Postcode: KY15 5PB).

What to Expect and Enjoy
While the house itself is grand and filled with French furniture and Chinese porcelain, the real “hook” for many visitors is what’s outside.

Kingarrock Hickory Golf: This is totally unique! You can play golf on a restored 9-hole course using original 1920s-style “hickory” clubs and soft balls. It’s a hilarious and challenging way to experience the game as it was a century ago.
Upstairs/Downstairs: You can tour the main “posh” rooms where the owners lived, but you can also explore the kitchens and servant quarters, which gives a great insight into how a big house actually functioned.
The Views: The mansion is set on a hill, and there are several marked walks through the estate. If you walk up to the “Hill of Tarvit” itself, you get panoramic views across the Eden Valley.
The Garden: The formal gardens were designed by Robert Lorimer and are beautiful for a stroll, with manicured lawns and structured hedging.
