Aunt Sandra’s Candy Factory is a fun and slightly different kind of day out where you get to see how traditional sweets and chocolates are made, and more importantly, taste them.
The main attraction here is the live demonstrations. You can watch skilled candy makers stretch, shape and cut sweets right in front of you. It is surprisingly interesting, especially for children, and gives you a real appreciation for how handmade sweets are created.
There are also hands-on experiences where visitors can get involved and make their own treats. This is usually the highlight for kids, as they get to leave with something they have created themselves.
The factory has a nostalgic feel, with a mix of traditional sweets and modern treats. There is also a shop where you can pick up freshly made chocolates, fudge and classic favourites, which makes it very tempting on the way out.

This is not a full day attraction, but it works really well as part of a wider Belfast trip. It is ideal if you are looking for something indoors, something a bit different, or a shorter activity to fill a gap in the day.
Families with younger children will get the most out of it, but adults who enjoy sweets or like seeing how things are made will still enjoy the experience.
There are cafés and shops nearby, and Belfast city centre is not far away, so it is easy to combine with other attractions.
Good to know: Booking ahead is usually required for the hands-on experiences and demonstrations. It can be quite busy during weekends and school holidays. Some experiences may have age guidance for younger children.
