Located just outside Kirkcaldy, this is a massive outdoor activity centre that offers much more than just the “clays” in its name. It’s a bit of a hidden gem for groups who want to try something different. You’ll find it at Cluny, near Kirkcaldy, Fife (Postcode: KY2 6QU).
What to Expect and Enjoy This place is all about variety and “having a go” at activities you wouldn’t normally do.
Target Sports: They are famous for Clay Pigeon Shooting, but they also offer Archery and Air Rifle shooting. They provide all the gear and instructors, so it’s very beginner-friendly.
Adventure Park: For the kids, there is a huge outdoor play area with pedal karts, a “footgolf” course (which is exactly what it sounds like—golf with a football!), and giant bouncy pillows.
Golf: For the more traditional sports fans, they have a golf driving range and a 9-hole course.
Segways: You can even book a Segway tour around the grounds, which is a hilarious and fun way to see the site.
Best For and Time Spent It’s perfect for families with older children or teens, but it’s also a very popular spot for “stags and hens” or corporate away days because of the competitive shooting.
Duration: You could spend a quick hour on the driving range, but most people stay for 3 to 4 hours to try a couple of different activities and let the kids play.
Helpful Tips for Your Visit
Booking: For things like shooting or Segways, you must book in advance. You can’t usually just turn up and start shooting. The outdoor play area for kids is often more flexible.
Clothing: You are in a field in Fife! Even if the sun is out, it can be muddy underfoot. Wear trainers or boots you don’t mind getting a bit dirty, and bring a jacket.
Food: There is an on-site clubhouse/café that serves very good “home-cooked” style food—think big breakfasts, burgers, and hearty soups. It’s generally well-priced and much nicer than your average activity centre snack bar.
