This is a famous “stop-and-look” point on the road between Melrose and St Boswells. It was allegedly the favorite view of Sir Walter Scott. There isn’t an “activity” here other than standing and looking, but the view across the River Tweed to the Eildon Hills is iconic.
It’s a perfect addition to a driving tour of the Borders. You can pull over in the designated parking area, take some photos, and soak in the landscape. It really shows off why this part of the country is called “Outstanding Natural Beauty.”

Good to know: It is completely free. It can be quite windy at the lookout, so hold onto your hat! There are no facilities here, so it’s just a quick, scenic pause on your journey.
