Average visit time: 2 to 3 hours

St Abbs is a tiny, incredibly picturesque fishing village perched on rugged cliffs. It is world-famous for its crystal-clear water and the massive seabird colony at the nearby St Abbs Head National Nature Reserve.

The best thing to do here is walk the cliff-top path from the village out to the lighthouse. The views are spectacular, and you can see thousands of birds nesting on the rocks during the spring and summer. The village itself is very charming with its small harbour—film fans might recognise it as “New Asgard” from the Marvel movies!

Good to know: Parking in the village is very limited and can be expensive, so many people use the car park at the top of the hill near the nature reserve. It is a steep walk down to the harbour, so wear sensible shoes.
