Bowhill is a massive estate that really caters to everyone. The house itself is a grand manor filled with world-class paintings and fine furniture, but the “Country Park” side of things is where the energy is. It’s set in a beautiful valley with thick forests and sparkling lochs.
What makes Bowhill a standout for families is the fantastic adventure playground. It’s huge and keeps children entertained for a long time. There are also several waymarked walking trails and cycle routes that range from easy strolls to more challenging climbs with great views. If you enjoy being active outdoors but still want the option of a bit of culture, this is the place.
It’s an ideal spot for a full family day out. You can tour the house in the morning and then spend the whole afternoon exploring the woods or playing.
