Ocean Beach Pleasure Park

Ocean Beach Pleasure Park

South Shields | NE33 2LD | Tyne and Wear

The largest amusement park in the North East, and the best part? It’s right on the seafront, so you get that proper salty-air, seaside-holiday feeling the moment you arrive.

The Best Bits: There are over 40 rides, ranging from gentle tea-cups for the toddlers to “stomach-flipping” thrill rides for the adrenaline junkies. If the weather turns, they have huge indoor arcades, a laser tag arena (usually for ages 6+), and even ten-pin bowling nearby.

Budgeting & Tips: Entry to the park is actually free, which is a huge bonus. You just pay for the rides you want using a Fun Card system (you tap the card at each ride). Pro Tip: Go on a Friday evening—they usually run a “Half Price” offer where all rides are 50% cheaper after 5:00 PM.

Food: It’s almost a crime not to get fish and chips or fresh hot donuts while you’re here. There are kiosks everywhere, but many people park up and have a picnic on Sandhaven Beach which is literally right next door.

Practical Info: You can easily spend a full day here if you combine the rides with a walk on the beach. Parking is available along the Sea Road, but it can get very busy on sunny weekends, so arriving early is a smart move.
