Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is one of the most popular things to do in Berkshire, a top tourist attraction, venue for hosting state visits, and the Queen's preferred weekend home. It was originally designed to protect Norman dominance around the outskirts of London, and to oversee a strategically important part of the River Thames.

A tour of the castle allows you to visit some of the castle rooms, see how the kitchens function and to view collections, portraits and exhibitions that are on show at the time of your visit. Windsor Castle is not only one of the great places to visit in Berkshire but also in the UK. In front of Windsor Castle is the great Windsor park. Behind the castle is the town of Windsor and across the river Thames, Eton.
