The Sage Entertainment Centre

 The Sage is a fantastic purpose-built music and arts centre by the River Tyne in Gateshead. The centre caters for all tastes with performances of pop, jazz, world, classical, dance, brass, experimental, folk and traditional music. Concerts take place throughout the day - mornings, lunch time, in the evening and late at night.

Blue Reef Aquarium - Tynemouth

The Blue Reef Aquarium has over 40 naturally themed habitats that take you on a fantastic journey from the Newcastle coast to exotic tropical waters. You will come face to face with everything from adorable seals and otters to clown fish, seahorses and graceful stingrays. The centre has a giant tropical ocean tank with an underwater tunnel and it's own colony of monkeys, including tiny pygmy marmosets and cotton topped tamarins.

Whickham Thorns Outdoor Activity Centre

The activity centre has a range of activities that include dry ski slopes, archery, assault course, climbing, high ropes, orienteering, sledging and tubing. Visitors can choose to either just 'call-in' or book a course and all courses include the use of facilities, equipment and the guidance of our qualified instructors. So it doesn't matter whether you're here by yourself, with family and friends or just looking for a unique venue for your party or a team building day, Whickham Thorns is good choice for you.

The Life Science Centre

The Life Science Centre is a science and discovery centre. The exhibits explain complex issues such as human evolution in a way that children can understand. The centre often has children's favourites such as Dinosaurs and mythical monsters. The centre has a planetarium and motion simulator.

Whitley Bay Ice Rink

Whitley Bay Ice Rink is used by thousands of people each week. Whether you are an experienced ice skater, hockey player or absolute beginner, the Ice Rink is available all the year round for you to have fun. The rink is home to Whitley Warriors Ice Hockey team.

Ocean Beach Pleasure Park - South Shields

Ocean Beach Pleasure Park is a small theme park with over 50 rides, amusement arcades, ten-pin bowling and crazy golf.

Seven Stories - the National Centre for Children's Books

Seven Stories is the national centre for children’s books and is based in Ouseburn Valley in Newcastle upon Tyne. The centre has several exhibitions and workshops to make the centre an enjoyable and entertaining place. Visitors can explore the amazing world of children’s books where magical words and pictures are brought to life through exhibitions, dressing up, story telling, craft workshops, interactive activities and special events.

The Tanfield Railway

The Tanfield Railway is a steam heritage railway and it is the oldest existing railway in the world. Visitors can take a scenic railway trip from Sunniside to East Tanfield and back. The trip takes you into Causey woods where the Causey Arch bridge is the centrepiece deep in the valley.

Angel of the North

This is one of the most impressive sculptures in Europe and is the iconic symbol of the area. When first erected it was hated by many but over time has become a much-loved symbol of regeneration and a great tourist attraction. The sculpture created by Anthony Gormley stands 20 metres (66 ft) tall, with wings measuring 54 metres (177 ft) across, next to the A1 and is seen by millions.

Newcastle Racecourse

Newcastle Racecourse is the north-east of England's premier racecourse; fixture list includes the Foster's Lager Northumberland Plate.

Greyhound Stadium

Newcastle Stadium is a greyhound stadium located on The Fossway, Byker, Newcastle. Racing at the stadium takes place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Newcastle - Stadium Tour

Victoria Tunnel Tour - Newcastle

The Victoria Tunnel is a preserved 19th century waggonway under the city from the Town Moor to the Tyne, to transport coal from Spital Tongues (Leazes Main) Colliery to the river and operated between 1842 and the 1860s. The Tunnel was converted in 1939 into an air raid shelter to protect thousands of Newcastle citizens during World War 2.
